What is Christian
Coaching?
This new field is
developing to assist pastors, lay leaders and any
Christian to attain
greater effectiveness in their life, to reach
their goals through
positive action and to help a person move to the
"next level" of their
work or their life with the assistance of their coach.
How Christian
Coaching works?
A relationship is
developed between a client and a coach around the
needs and the issues
of the client. A session can vary in length from
30 to 60 minutes ,
can be in person or on the phone(or even email perhaps)
and can be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or any variation that is
needed. The client sets the agenda and the session always moves
toward results and achieving the things the client wants to
achieve. The fee is worked out as part of the "covenant" and
will vary depending on the client's ability to pay and the
coach's experience.
Who Benefits from
Christian Coaching?
Clearly, the client
can benefit by solving problems, doing things in areas they have
felt "stuck" in before, gaining confidence by achieving more of
one's goals, and dealing effectively with important life and
ministry issues. The church benefits from a healthier and more
effective clergy person in many different ways. The clergy
family can benefit too. And hopefully God's kingdom is advanced
by more effective work in the Lord's name.
